Thank you to everyone who came and helped with the litter pick last Sunday, it was lovely to see so many of you, both new and experienced Wombles. I estimate we had at least 50 people helping and collected in excess of 50 sacks of litter - well done to you all!
Please see below details of forthcoming litter picks, it will be lovely if you can join us.
9.00 - 10.00, Sunday 11 February, Bilbie Green Play Area
The residents of Bilbie Green (led by Helena) will be meeting in the play area (I’m assuming this is the original one which was there before the houses were built) - do go along and help them out if you can!
3 March, 2-4pm Keep Britain Tidy’s Nationwide Litter Pick
This is our now annual cross-Keynsham litter pick, with multiple groups starting at different points across Keynsham and all joining together at the end for tea and cakes (venue tbc) - current start points are as follows:
Santander (1pm start time) - giving the Memorial park a really good deep clean - led by Cassandra
Keynsham in Bloom - litter picking the train station - led by Dawn
Keynsham Beavers - meeting at the allotments, then going along Stoney Lane and back along the side of the river to the park - led by Angela
Dapps Hill Bridge - would you like to lead this group?
Wellsway School perimeter fence, meeting at Ellsbridge Close - led by Erica
Gravel car park by Lock Keeper pub - would you like to lead this group?
There are many other areas we have litter picked in the past, so if you would like to litter pick a specific area and/or lead a group do let me know - the more the merrier! If you will need to borrow litter picking equipment please let me know in advance so I can make sure your group leader has enough to lend you on the day.
Saltford Wombles are considering litter picking the A4 from Saltford as far as Pixash Lane on a fortnightly basis - they have asked whether Keynsham Wombles would like to join in by making a similar commitment from Pixash Lane to Keynsham - if you think you could help with this please let me know.
Thank you all so much for all you do to keep Keynsham tidy year in, year out!
